I have heard the same about my small town Iowa high school. An old PE teacher/coach said the reason was that they didn’t want lint/fabric bits clogging up the drain/filter/something or other. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

davekuch@millsap @siracusa @Linnefaulk @hotdogsladies Fibers from the swim suits was the reason I have heard for this too. My Dad had nude swimming in high school too in eastern Wisconsin between the years of 1962 to 1966.
@millsap @siracusa @hotdogsladies For my husbands school, it was probably just economics. I would expect not everyone would have swim suits in the city. And they wouldn’t have to spend the money to provide them.
