Phil@mikegalsworthy - isn't this well understood on all sides though? If you believe that it's desirable for the government to promote one group at the expense of everyone else, and that you're in that group then anything which limits their ability to do that will be seen as meddling.
IMO we need more discussion about why it's important for governments to protect everyone equally, which I think will only happen once the mainstream narrative becomes less fearful.
