retoot this if your retirement plan is essentially based on the idea that civilisation will probably crumble before you reach 65 and money will be meaningless anyway.
@cmconseils I more or less bet on that in my teens. World lasted longer than I expected :(
@crazyeddie @cmconseils yes, in my younger days I didn’t think we’d make it this far. it’s been a very slow-moving apocalypse. But it does feel liie it’s been picking up speed a bit lately.

@maccruiskeen @cmconseils That's because some of the others my age have decided to hit FF.

We were all told there was going to be a great afterparty and we've been waiting a long time.

Everyone had seemed to make up their mind, you know? All the adults saying, "We're all too stupid and we're going to blow you up and fill the world with trash."

Some people were waiting for floating cities and flying cars. We've been waiting for the end of days. So many broken promises.

@maccruiskeen @cmconseils Reading this again after notice someone liked it or whatever...

This actually really hits home. I'd learn about all the stuff that was going wrong that people were doing to fuck up the world. Then I'd see that nobody wanted to stop. They'd fight anyone who tried. Even those who'd talk non-stop about it.

And even if that weren't the case, if I could win, God was blowing it all up anyway. This matched my experience with fathers--not just my own. "Meth? Fuck it.."
