It's genuinely annoying that all allegedly "not evil" messaging platforms suck ass

Signal? Kinda okay, decent UX, but annoyingly simple and visibly only made for 1:1 chats. And painfully mobile-only.

Matrix? Would post about it but sorry can't decrypt message. No seriously, no matter how hard the fanboys want to convince you "it's good now, actually!" it's not. There are still random, unacceptable problems.

XMPP? Sure, go ahead and use it you and your 2 friends. Even among OSS people, it's a huge niche.

Honestly, what else is there?

Idk, i still use Matrix and have hope in the project, but maaan

Oh and ofc talking to communities of any of those projects is an experience about as nice as eating shit

It's a very low-effort desktop app made for a product that's been clearly designed for mobile devices first

That's what i had in mind by "mobile-only", maybe should've made that clearer

@dynksoksetyna @rail It's a decent client, but you can't use it without the app installed on your phone, and keeping things synced is annoying. It's nothing fancy, but overall it's almost to the point where I'd say it's good enough. Almost
