I love this show so much

#StarTrek

@chrispackham It's really won me over
@giantspecks I’ve loved it since the pilot but “Ad Astra per Aspera” in season 2 really sealed the deal for me
@chrispackham SAME! That was lean-forward viewing. In a league with TNG's "Measure of a Man." #StarTrek
@giantspecks I’ve watched it like 10 times. I hope they can hit that peak again in the next couple years
@chrispackham I love the way it uses canon, not just to wink at fans but re-interpreting it in unexpected, creative ways. The time-travel episode with Khan, for one example... Spock's entire personality for another
@giantspecks I think that Spock’s character in this show acknowledges something very true: Spock was a coldly logical character who was played by Leonard Nimoy, an actor with great personal warmth. I thought Zachary Quinto was good at playing a Vulcan but Ethan Peck has much warmer charisma.
@chrispackham I think the seed from which this whole characterization sprouts is in "The Cage" pilot where Nimoy (as Spock, serving with Pike) was playing a much more emotional version of the character... mainly because no one had figured out Vulcans yet. The SNW writers ran with it.
