How to manage chaos with Stoic wisdom

Digital chaos can really shake us. It’s easy to get lost in news feeds or social comparisons, especially when facing challenges. Today we'll look at Zeno’s idea of an information diet to help calm the noise. (1/4)

This is an old Stoic practice about choosing what you take in. Think of it like trees losing leaves to save energy. We cut back on things that feed worry. Online noise twists how we see things. When life feels shaky, being picky about what you read or watch matters more.

Here’s how to start: (2/4)

First, take a minute each morning to write down three worries before touching your phone. Open just one app you actually need, like your calendar. Unfollow two accounts that make you doubt yourself.

Second, write down five things online that always upset you. Block those during work time.

Try this at sunset: Spend 10 minutes noting how things you read or watched made you feel. Stronger or weaker? (3/4)

Give news just 10 minutes a day. Ask: “Will this change what I do today?” If not, skip it.

Trees don’t worry about lost leaves. They know new ones will grow. Try focusing on what matters this week. See what changes when you stop feeding fears.
