me, sitting down to watch some good sci-fi horror:
i really do hope one place this story winds up is the idea that these CEOs' obsessions with capturing and studying terrifying alien creatures isn't rational at all, there's not even any significant profit in it, they're just fascinated by these embodiments of darwinian struggle even if they know they're going to die by its hands/claws/teeth/etc.
@jplebreton I think fascination would be too strong a word. There's the whole theme of humans thinking they're no longer part of the food chain - that's even more so for the CEOs. Life is meaningless to them, just as it is for the aliens. The creatures are just a resource, same as the human lives they expend when they try to get them. That's what I see, so far. ("And in the show!", etc.) Monsters at both ends.
