Train a child in the way that he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it (Proverbs 22:6).

Many find #Solomon's wisdom regarding #children uncomfortable. They look for exceptions to the rule.

Nevertheless, most exceptions end up reinforcing the rule in some way or another. Children go according to how they are #trained; the question generally involves what lessons the child obtained from their parents.

Israelites saw their parents act like the nations, and so did they. Later Israelites repented and sought God more fully, and their children often did likewise.

So it also goes in Christ and in how well, or poorly, we raise our children in the #discipline and #instruction of the Lord.

In what ways do children end up taking after their parents, and how can we well raise children in the discipline and admonition of the Lord?
