@siracusa not that this should make any difference, but are there actually any other Apple IDs on the Mac or is it just yours? I’m assuming this gets triggered by some background process that uses another Apple ID to sync with Apple’s servers. If there are no other IDs on the machine then that would make this even more outrageous.
@sdjmchattie There are multiple accounts on all my Macs. And, yes, this is my leading theory about where Apple has gone wrong in their implementation (despite multiple user accounts being a feature of macOS for decades).
@siracusa Well yes indeed. It’s a multiple user environment. This is probably another example of being mobile first. They write the code to check for change of ownership on iPad, iPhone and visionOS where it’s a single user environment. Then they port it to macOS and do a quick shrug of the shoulders … ship it.
