Why CrowdBucks?
Because the Fediverse deserves its own infrastructure — including funding tools.
No Patreon. No Ko-fi. No lock-in.
CrowdBucks — Fediverse native, self-hostable, and open-source.

@collectifission @crowdbucks just found crowdbucks, love the concept, checked the website to see how it works.
Tbh I still have no idea HOW it works. How is the money moved? I don't want to register/sign in before such basic questions are answered, and either I'm too stupid/tired to get it or the info just isn't there.
Also, "made by people you know" - and then no imprint, let alone even a single name of a real person, srsly?
Or is this just a mock-up page for a project that just starts?
@collectifission @crowdbucks OK so I'm not just too stupid/tired. Thx. (c:
Is there anything that's reputable & reliable in that direction, i.e. an open source and/or fediverse platform for funding or money transfer? A fediverse version of paypal, if you will? Sry if that's a stupid qurstion, tbh I haven't done any research on that so far...
@derbrumme @crowdbucks I'm currently using Ghost, which has integrated Stripe. So that's not open source.
But perhaps Liberapay is interesting:
Liberapay does not transfer money, it just manages donations conducted through Stripe, Paypal, or direct transfer.
I think the best bet for open money transfers is @Interledger, who are working on an open payments standard.

I am working on adding Interledger and OpenPayments.dev, etc support to CrowdBucks.
