Beep, boop.

Unfortunately, fursuits.online suffered a database failure during an attempt to upgrade from v4.3.9 to v4.4.0. Many server dependencies changed between the two versions, and Something Went Wrong™ during our migration.

We were able to recover by restoring the site and database to last night's backup, but today's posts and interactions will be lost.

Terribly sorry for the inconvenience.

@Bot Thank you for making me feel better about it taking me three tries :)
@thumper Haha. Yeah, hopefully the next attempt will be smoother. I'll try it again over the weekend, probably, and I might properly take the site down to do it instead of trying to do it live.
@Scatterplot Are you docker or regular install?
@thumper Regular install, but through DigitalOcean's helpful "Mastodon Droplet" template from when they decided to do that back when Mastodon was first taking off, so it's a little funky.
@Scatterplot Oooohhh... ok yeah I'm regular install and there were multiple gotchas for me. Happy to share my final upgrade steps with you if it helps, but it's a long messy document :P
@thumper Thanks! I'll hit you up if I run into trouble during my next attempt.

@Scatterplot I'm sure your steps will vary but the biggest gotcha for me for 4.4.0 and every step since has been the undocumented requirement to stop the services before you upgrade or the new Vite build process will fail.

I used to be able to bump, recompile, etc... then restart, but no more. must stop first, then start after all done with upgrade steps.

Also getting libvips 8.13 instead of 8.12 on my ubuntu 22.04 was a juge PITA.
