@paintingsbyjoan I believe it. I don't have sunbirds here, but there are several that are similar in appearance, aside from the colour, and they provide lots of entertainment for my cat and me.
@MimzyDub I hope your cat is not too friendly with them! Our neighbour's cat is a hunter, I don't like shooing her away but I don't want her killing these little beauties or any of their friends :)

@paintingsbyjoan my cat's strictly an indoor fuzz butt, although if he'd be willing to wear a harness and go around with a leash like he used to, I'd gladly take him outside. Of course I'd be able to control where he went and keep him from the birds.

I have two big windows in the living room from which he can keep an eye on the feathered and furry entertainers who come around. We get a lot of squirrels, too, and some racoons, as well as bears some years. The bears just do their thing and leave. No harm done.

@paintingsbyjoan the window shots and the one of my cat are from the past few minutes, and the bear one is from this past April. That's a yearling bear with a tag on his left ear. Yes, he was on my deck.
@MimzyDub Wow! The bear that close is a worry if you went out and didn't know!!

@paintingsbyjoan so true, but once I was aware of the bear coming around my house, I was always extra careful. Now he's up in the mountains doing whatever bears do.

I was told before I agreed to move in here that various kinds of wildlife would most likely be seen, including bears. Still, yeah, if I didn't actually know that one was around, it would be a potential problem.
