People weren’t healthier “back in the day.”

In 1960s, life expectancy was in the 60s. Today, it is 79.

Testicular cancer? 95% fatal.
Today? 95% survivable.

Same with MANY cancers.
And: Infections. Vaccine-preventable illnesses. Many other health conditions.

We live longer & healthier lives today because of science.

Sure, but “healthier” can mean a lot of things. One thing is the fact we can treat a lot of diseases now and get longevity, a very different thing is how much more-or less-of these diseases we are getting by doing prevention or by changing on eating habits, for better or worse. It is probably undeniable our food today is worse than in the 60s, even accounting for diet awareness and some slight control on pesticides, etc…
