I get the impression that shortwave is a relic of the pre-internet age. But I wonder what’s the least implausible scenario that would make the medium attractive again.

@lemmy.radio Censhorship, people could use local shortwave broadcasts as a means to communicate or spread your message. War, clandestine broadcasts to / from the local resistance. I think it depends. Somebody with basic electronics radio knowledge could make a shortwave receiver / transmitter from a few parts around the house. Simplicity is key
