What Keeps Us Going

An open call to create a zine of lists, brief paragraphs, and art about what helps keep us going during these bleak times. Particularly seeking disabled, queer, and BIPOC artists.

Today’s the deadline, but if you have something ready to go you can submit (for free!) here:

I created a zine for this project that a friend is co-coordinating.

Page 2/3: “The World Feels Really Hard Now”

I used actual headlines from a wide range of media outlets to create this two page section. Most are verbatim.

The bottom reads, “Everyone I know is also dealing with personal:
strife, grief, worry, health issues, insecurity, fear…”

Pages 4/5 read:

In 2009 poet Toi Derricotte put into words something the Queer Community has always known.

Joy is an act of resistance!

Pages 6/7 feature a spiral of words surrounding a collaged red heart. There are ink-dyed, punched-paper stars, butterflies, and a dragonfly surrounding the spiral.

“What keeps me going”, is written. One word at each corner.

Back: page 8 reads:

“Make more time for Awe, Delight, Wonder”

If you’d like a PDF of the whole zine, drop me a line. It fits to 8.5x11” paper.
