As far as I can tell, Coldplay only have the one song, that they take apart and reassemble in different configurations. They are the musical equivalent of beige, and appeal solidly to the middle-classes. Hating Coldplay has been the thing to do for decades.

Oh I disagree. I used to listen to Coldplay pretty often and people have hated on Coldplay for decades. Some found the sound boring, and I recall accusations of them copying music from others, though I never looked into those claims. I say used to because I feel like my tastes in music changed and they don’t come up in my playlist much anymore.
Mine was just the way too fucking overplayed viva vida song. When you hear it 12 times an hour from multiple stations, any band quickly gets irritating.

Mostly_GristlePedro Pascal’s sister is a trans woman. He has been publicly very vocal on the subject of trans rights and inclusion. Consequently, a lot of transphobes, chuds, and miscellaneous fascists have been targeting him for a while and trying to smear his reputation any way they can. I don’t really pay much attention to celebrity stuff so I don’t know to what extent JK Rowling is personally involved in that, but given that she has been a very outspoken anti-trans bigot for some time, I would not be surprised to learn she was egging her followers on to that end.

Lemme clarify. Roadside Picnic, the book, inspired S.T.A.L.K.E.R the game and its sequel. Some of those devs went on to make Metro 2033. These games in turn inspired more games like Escape from Tarkov, Stalcraft (bleh), Into the Radius (peak), Convrgence, and more recently Gray Zone Warfare. The popularity of Tarkov basically solidified extraction shooters as a genre.

No, most people are just sick of Pedro Pascal, a guy who isn’t even anything special as an actor, being forced down our throat by being cast in every single movie that’s released. It happens to every actor that the industry decides is the “next big thing”.
Once that “actor fatigue” sets in, if they’re also a vocal proponent of ideologies that the public overwhelmingly disagree with, and are openly hateful towards anyone who disagrees with them, well it’s a recipe for backlash.
