Yesterday was a holiday and a great Mimata music festival so I forgot it was Tuesday: the day I put out a box and money for in-season organic vegetable delivery from a sweet family... So I biked back from work for an early lunch and got photos of the enlivening asphalt flowers again. A little girl with a really stressed face bikes by and stops to pet and talk (maybe?) with Maron. She came by so I called Maron over to the wall to say hello. It seemed too hot to have Maron on up on the other wall by she can just reach her head up to be petted from the street from her normal spot. I told the girl about the NanBuShiki band and the quote, just to have something to say: not sure how appropriate it was or how old she is, maybe 9? 10?.. But when I got back in the evening she came by again just as I noticed 2 of the 2 flowers were gone? I asked her if she took them and she said yes, but she might just be agreeable. She said yes when I asked if she took the home to enjoy too, but I think the petals were over where Maron stand to peer up over the wall.. There were nice leaves from another plant down there too, maybe she was trying to feed Maron pretty flowers and leaves. I told her I appreciated the one remaining flower and hoped to see it to the very end, to see how it changes. I was hot and it was late for feeding the chickens, but when I have more time maybe I'll just give her a CD with the flower song DonDokoSHo and with SoiSoiSoi: years ago I heard rumors that make me think the CD would be good for her mother too:
