"Disproportionate to the point of absurdity". Absolutely. The government, Keir Starmer, and Yvette Cooper have merely managed to make themselves look foolish and have had the police arresting the most unlikely bunch of people ever to have been labelled terrorists or terrorist supporters. Now, having doubled down and effectively boxed themselves into a corner it's hard to see where they go next. It was all so entirely unnecessary. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/palestine-action-arrests-protest-starmer-b2805447.html
Keir Starmer faces backlash over hundreds arrested in support of Palestine Action

Baroness Chakrabarti said the proscription of the group risks exacerbating community tensions and creating a ‘bigger headache for the police’

The bigger backlash will come next election. Starmer Cooper and Labour as a party, has lost all credibility..

@tompearce49 They're probably privately hoping the proscription order will get struck down on judicial review to spare their further blushes without them actually having to back down.
