So there's a new version of the Leica Q3 called the Leica Q3 43, which comes with a 43mm lens built in instead of the usual 28mm. There are Q3 owners who are buying the Q3 43 as a second camera because of the different lens... which... at that point, why not just get a M11?
@yiningkarlli autofocus šŸ˜…
@romainguy Yea yea the M11 doesn’t have autofocus, but if you want the Leica look and experience with multiple lenses, the M11 is it. Or if you want a great compact camera with autofocus and multiple lenses, then you want a Fujifilm XPro3 or a Sony A7C, not two different Leica Q3s. Unless money is no object of course lol
@romainguy That being said, I’m absolutely sympathetic to the argument that the A7C, while having a great spec sheet, is just not very fun to use. Sony cameras are technically amazing but I just don’t like using them because they feel like computers with lenses strapped on, not really like cameras. I also don’t like their color science.
@yiningkarlli I tried using A7s multiple times and never found joy in them, so I’m sticking to the M and I keep missing shots because of that. But that’s okay because it’s a hobby and I care as much, if more more, about the process than the actual results. That said I recently started using a Hasselblad X2D and I love its color science. Not too bulky either considering what it is. The AF is garbage though and I wish it was a rangefinder. I have as many focus misses as on the M…
@romainguy My father-in-law has an old Hasselblad 500CM that he keeps in perfect working order and I’m planning on getting him a CFV II 50C digital back at some point just because that looks like so much fun to use. Of course with that whole setup it’s like… ā€œwhat’s autofocus? Never heard of itā€ lol
@yiningkarlli on the X2D you get one whole point of AF and you can even move it! (With the touch screen only, ugh, it sucks)
