Getting set up to teach #CoilBasketry at the #SouthWestBushcraftAndOutdoorShow in #NewtonAbbot today, come along!

Notes from the bushcraft show: two small boys just strolled past me with a wooden whistle they'd made? bought?

One said "Blow twice if you're in danger!" There followed lot of ineffectual blowing, causing the whistle to emit the occasional strangles squeak.

When he'd got his breath back one of them said "Maybe just scream"

Update: it seems there was a stall teaching how to make whistles. Many more squeaks, puffs and gasps rang out across the site over the course of the afternoon, but the only kid I saw actually managing to get a whistle out of it was an absolutely tiny girl which felt like a bit of victory for feminism
Bushcraft show update: bought a horrifically expensive pint, took a couple of sips and immediately dropped it. But then as I was crossing the field a child I'd never seen before in my life ran up to tell me "Me and Lucas found two spiders!" So obviously I congratulated him effusively, and when he scampered off to find someone else to tell I discovered I felt rather less grumpy
Fortunately I realised before deploying either, but I made rather a bad choice of Sriracha and shower gel bottles
@afewbugs Fun times to be had in bath and kitchen 😫
@lappenjammer my incredibly sympathetic wife's only comment was it would have been funnier if I'd actually used them 😂
