@Durcheinanderin well, one must be alive to be killed. As a time traveller, they travelled killed and died. I would assume. But I have no idea if that wouldn't cause a paradox of them killing but also dying, so not getting killed in the end.

@Durcheinanderin the cat is the light source. You could say the 8 creatures outside are the lifes it lived until it was summoned from death again to serve as a beacon. Our could be an accidental coincidence.
