After months, me and the 10yo finally finished our campaign of #NowOrNever designed by #RyanLaukat

A good #boardgame, that we both agreed could have been great with some tweaks.

(1) Story reward (and, to an extent, combat) rewards did not keep pace with going all-in on building. This game is really an engine building in disguise

(2) Combat is boring. The dice should have been used to randomize the enemy instead of the player.

(3) The chapter gimmicks were under-utilized. We had expected more variety in each chapter

(4) The art is, as usual, really good and the components feel great (albeit too many)

(5) This was easily our most house-ruled game, mostly to address balance issues.

We're on the fence about #SleepingGods. It sounds cool, but also looks very fiddly.
