So, is the #starlink and other #LEO satellites burning up during reentry, releasing metal particles, thus destroying our ozone layer something similar to the #oilindustry doing research in the 70s that confirmed GHGs were harming/would warm the climate? Does it just get swept under the rug as the damage adds up? (Rhetorical)

I mean, they HAD to have researched this if other experts are aware of the risks. Right? Right?...

I'm really looking forward to explaining to my kids that we can't go outside because 'the sun is too spicy today'.

@camless I would say, no. The satellite builders I've interacted with are the most narrow-minded, single-focus engineers I've ever met. I think it is 100% possible that none of the builders have studied it at all. In fact, I think it is likely.
