This new "Editor" feature that Microsoft jammed into Outlook is literally so stupid. Every grammar suggestion is something inane and incorrect like this.

@MLE_online

Oh I've seen people complain about this.

I did not realize those were pop ups. That makes it even worse. Is there any way to turn them off? Haven't used MS in 7 years. It was pretty bad already then.

Can't believe how bad it has turned to. 😑

@mastosalo there is no way to turn it off. There are buttons that are supposed to turn it off, but they dont work

@MLE_online

🤬

That is intolerable. Sorry but, this is your "work tool" am I right?

Hope you find a suitable workaround if this doesn't resolve otherway.

@MLE_online @mastosalo A short story:

Many years ago, I stopped by the local pizzeria and ordered a cheese calzone. I got it, took it home, took a bite and realized that it had sausage.

I went back and said that my cheese calzone had sausage in it and that I'm vegetarian, and the response was, "So what? I didn't charge you for it."

I feel like Microsoft constantly overestimates the value of their "features" and can't imagine that people might not want them at all.
@MLE_online someone must have thought "what if we upped Google in their bad spellchecker game?"
@MLE_online ah, I think you have your language set to Yorkshire English.
@MLE_online I thought that spell and grammar check was a solved problem in *checks notes* 2007
@MuseumJoe but that was before AI was here to improve everything
@MLE_online I'm sometimes tempted to disable grammar checker plugin in PhpStorm. Its most recent suggestions are completely on this line.
Meanwhile, Google speech recognition now makes up words in my native Spanish.
@MLE_online isn't this just the same one that was the reason I stopped using MS Word?
@ianturton I don't know! Not being you, I don't know why you stopped using MS Word. Your mind is unknowable to outsiders, except when you choose to explain it.
@MLE_online mostly because I drove me mad with it's crappy layout but suggesting non grammatical fixes to my text was the final straw
