Yep, they're pretty damn good. 😏

Next up is a string ensemble.
String ensemble was good, though suffered from the usual problem of thirty kids playing violin and being a microtone off the right notes...
Now a saxophone ensemble is playing. Also quite good.
Percussion Ensemble 2.
Also very good.
They've been mostly lower secondary groups so far - the less experienced students. Now we're getting into the better groups, with more older students - another string ensemble, playing some Mahler & Brahms.
First piece was pretty good. Pretty challenging to play, but they did well.
Second is much more lively, also doing well on this one - except that one kid who came in a beat too early after a rest. 😆
Wind ensemble playing now. They're the 'junior' wind instrument group. They did a good job on their first piece. Can't say I'm a fan of the music they're performing, but they did well.
Next is jazz with Big Band 2. The jazz ensemble at this school are usually very good!

Now Chamber Strings playing some Vivaldi and Bach.
This group was amazingly good at the last concert.

Next is Wind Orchestra, with some music from Hamilton, and another piece I do not know.
Interesting how the strings groups will play pure 'classical', but the wind groups only seem to play 'modern'.
#SchoolConcert
Not being a violin player, I have no idea how hard that piece was, but it seemed quite technically difficult. They pulled it off nicely.
Now for Big Band 1.
#SchoolConcert
Yep, they're pretty good.
I especially liked the ghetto instrument repair mid-song with a hair tie.
You couldn't even hear a missed note while they did it! 😆
Ah, now we're getting Rick-rolled by the combined Strings ensemble!
Not a bad finale.
Overall, quite a good #SchoolConcert
