Interesting behavioral change: on smaller iPads like the 11-inch, previously split views would struggle to display three columns in a window, and the system would temporarily show/hide the sidebar if you try to interact with the third column. It was always an annoyance of mine.

On iPadOS 26, that behavior is gone. Apps will show all their columns as long as they fit onscreen, making layouts on smaller iPads more functional
