rumbaRural Town back when that rhyme was coined? Sure. He was just over of your neighbor’s of you were even lucky enough to have a doctor in town. But not in an urban out semi urban area.
AppaYipYipMy dad grew up in NYC and when he was a kid in the 50s a doctor saved his life by coming to their apartment in the middle of the night. My dad’s family were super poor and couldn’t pay the doctor, so I guess it really depends on the kindness of the doctor.
