7/30 midday explosions in First Hill - reddit sucks - Lemmy.World

In case you wound up here from Reddit being the steaming pile of shit that it is: deleting proper discussion due to the upcoming Blue Angels - you aren’t crazy, and there were three explosions today in First Hill. I don’t know what they were from, and all reddit threads the noted it were deleted, even though the Blue Angels aren’t doing practice until tomorrow, and morons in the city have already lost their minds coining legit concerns on people being “Whiny.” There were three percussive blasts, and though I lost track of time, while the sun was up and past 4( for the first at least?)pm. There were no jet noises, and it sounded like a contained explosion - like an explosion in a trash can. The first explosion caught me off guard, and the second two were closer together.

Fuck really? I thought it was the Blue Angels but did not see any on the flight tracker website. Hope people are ok over there.

They were scheduled to arrive before 2pm today at Boeing Field. Anything after that and especially without jet sounds isn’t them. I didn’t see anything bad or hear any extra sirens, but it was really loud when I was by Virginia Mason. Decent chance it was just tomfoolery and nobody was hurt, but it pisses me off to see reddit straight up stifle communication.

I wish I could help. I can’t find anything about it. I checked SPD, SFD, KIRO, KOMO, and Fox 13. On a side note, I learned there may be an arsonist loose in South Seattle.

The Blue Angels didn't officially begin practice until today, but they were out for a short time yesterday afternoon. I'm directly in their flight path, so I can both hear and see them going overhead.

Thanks for the second hand verification. I heard 'em well at home too. They were pretty loud, nobody would note those noises as percussive, or like explosions like the three loud bangs downtown yesterday.

You what? Sure the jet show was loud today, but there were still three unexplained explosions yesterday. Your comment history shows that you know how to talk like an adult, so figure it out outside of shitpost boards, or get the fuck back to reddit.
