Behold, a Purple Death pepper (800,000-1,500,000 SHU). This is the first year we've grown this variety and last night I tried it for the first time.

I ate a piece the size of a nickel. Every part of my mouth it touched went numb for about 20 seconds. This was followed by a slowly then quickly building heat that felt stabby, almost like a sting. After 15 minutes the heat was gone.

Nice pepper!
