"From 2004 to 2006, Keir #Starmer acted as a barrister for five people who had tried to damage RAF planes to prevent them bombing Iraq in Tony Blair’s illegal war that would eventually cause the deaths of more than 1.2 million civilians. He presented a defence on the basis that they were acting to prevent a greater evil.

@simon_brooke You would never know how low Starmer would fall once he got his hands on Labour itself…
@QueenLucita The thing I'm honestly curious about is whether, in the conspiracy to get rid of #Corbyn as Labour leader, #Starmer did something which was so shameworthy he's now being blackmailed for it.
@simon_brooke Possibly, I wouldn’t be surprised if Starmer was behind it
@simon_brooke @QueenLucita I don’t think it requires a conspiracy — the simpler explanation is that Starmer was always spineless and dishonest.
@QueenLucita @simon_brooke
I can't believe how awful he's turned out. I thought he'd be ok, based on cases like this and his defence of the McDonald's 2.
I'm now asking myself if this was all political posturing to get where he is today.

@Sarahw @simon_brooke The moment he turned on trans people was basically the “You picked the wrong house, fool!” moment. He took one look at Labour and said: “How can we sell its soul to the devil?”
