…Update: Fire behavior is active with short runs and some uphill runs, with increased activity in the afternoon. The fire has also been active at night due to low relative humidities.

Fire Outlook: Weather is expected to remain dry for the next few days with forecasted winds out of the southwest with gusts 20-30 mph. Poor overnight humidity recoveries are expected to continue, which could contribute to fire spread overnight. Monsoonal moisture becomes possible on Wednesday 7/30 and increases later in the week.

Objective: Crews will continue point protection strategies and act as necessary to protect values at risk. All values at risk are not publicly accessible and are not a threat to public health or safety if impacted.

Closures: The Cat Canyon Fire is within the Nevada National Security Site (NNSS) and Nevada Test and Training Range (NTTR) withdrawn lands. This is a restricted area, closed to the public, always, regardless of fire activity. No additional closures are in effect.
