among the many *important* emails i receive regularly is a warning about what shows are soon leaving netflix australia.
the list is not distressing, but one of my favourite shows to ignore is *greenleaf* — a USian mega-church story set in Memphis
it is so hard to reconcile all the villainous villainy and bizarre articles of faith with the idea of a caring god. but there are some great lines in this show

they made a running gag of Allison Janney’s height (1.83m / 6ft), then Kristin Chenoweth joined the cast… (all 4’11” or 1.5m)
as a short arse with lots of tall relos i found this amusing

this time from true blood — a show which had enormous promise at the start but quickly (imo) became incredibly boring.

when he learns that some white rednecks in the diner made a joke about aids, he carefully takes off his ear-rings before going to confront them.

can’t seem to reduce the file size enough, so this one is a still photo with description:
the show was Offspring, with Asher Keddie as Nina, and Matthew Le Nevez as patrick. the characters are both surgeons who took an instant dislike for each other — presumably this is due to unresolved sexual tension (UST)
in this scene, nina and patrick are at a hospital sink, scrubbing.
nina avoids eye contact altogether, as patrick insults her.
patrick: you do know there is probably something clinically wrong with you… ?
nina: right… that your professional opinion, is it?
patrick: obviously i’m not qualified to give an official diagnosis…
there could be many things… none of them are good
nina: fuck you
patrick: … could be tourette’s
Great collection. If the man is the tent pole, bent, wobbly & replaceable, the woman is the canvas.
And the West Wing gif? I’m 5’10 & a half. (I think I still have the half.) 😂

Silent. No dialogue. Just framing of the scene, looks at each other, and Big Bird’s happy head movements.
