Super! So und nicht anders.

Firstly, it cuts off the south of the city from the field as an insurmountable barrier, and secondly, the noise from the motorway penetrates right into the middle of the field. So this is the area that urgently needs intervention. In our opinion, this is the right building site for an urban expansion. We therefore propose building over the motorway to the south. As a precise urban planning correction of the relationship within the urban fabric, the outlined development proposal could reconcile the hardened political fronts: Yes, the pressure on the Berlin housing market is enormous and yes, the field should not actually be built on. For many Berliners, its expanse has become a ā€˜locus libertatis’ - a space of freedom. Building on it now arouses similar feelings as if you were suddenly developing housing plans in the middle or even just on the edge of Central Park. This idea not only solves the paradox between the need for housing and the undevelopability of the field, but also comes with significant added value such as the connection to the south of the city, the solution to the noise problem and the creation of an urban balcony, which simply building directly on the field cannot achieve. #maxdudler #architecture #urbandesign #cityplanning #berlin #competition #tempelhoferfeld #verkehrswende #greencity #spatialconnection #mixeduse #housing #architecturaldesign #urbanarchitecture #architektur #stadtplanung #sustainability #architecturelovers #communitydesign #publicspace #architecturedesign #civicarchitecture #germanarchitecture #designprocess #competition #stadtarchitektur #planning #architecturecompetition #archidaily #archilovers"
