The mass majority of their “pay” comes from grift’s, donors, and other corruption outside of their official salary from the Congress.
Why do they get paid hundreds of thousands of dollars while at the same time skipping entire months worth of work?

Most of them spend a huge amount of their time fundraising whether congress is in session or not.
Jn whatever country replaces the US, we need to have publicly funded elections. We have to get the money out of politics. Eliminate PACs while we’re at it.
Doesn’t matter if you don’t complete decouple and depoliticise the judiciary. Otherwise, over time, you’ll be back here again.
