After seeing more and more of apples 26-OSs I can clearly (kchkch) say, that I couldn’t care less about #LiquidGlass for our Apps! It sure may look cool and fresh to some - but we are not building „for the sake of looking cool“-Apps. Our apps are used by hard working people, outdoor. The apps sure should look good - but good means: big buttons/touch areas, enough contast and visual clarity to see what do to without distracting interfaces. Our apps won’t look „old“, but „thankfully still usable“☝️
Plus: we offer our apps for iOS and Android. They look almost identical in both platforms. Some hardcore user of one platform with nerd genes like most of us might not like that. But believe me: In a business case that’s a whole different world! Most users don’t even know what device they have and why should they? Some getting devices from their company and one year it might be an Android, another an iOS device. It’s a plus to have the SAME app on all devices in a company. (1/2)

As a #developer you have to know your users! Sure, a Mastodon Client is used by a different group of people. Those people might like to see the latest features included just because. Maybe it’s helpful, maybe it just looks cool.
In a business world it sure should look good but that doesn’t mean „shiny“ or „sparkling“. It means good readability, easy to use with big touch targets and designed to get things done without „scanning“ the UI to much (2/2)
