I don’t know what possessed my flatmate to get one of those reed oil diffusers when I have a sinus and throat reaction to any chemical smell stronger than dishwashing liquid and after two hours I had to go find the cap and get it ready to go to the bin because I can’t breathe and am coughing.

I got a citrus one thinking it would smell “natural” but I don’t know how it smells anymore because the waft of it from the other room burned out my nose hairs.

@shmouflon oh god it's terrible when they're that strong! some of them feel so designed for a place larger than anyone can afford now or like a commercial space.

depending on the oil there might be ways to dilute it?

@shmouflon Nikki says if it's got multiple reeds you can probably also just take a few out and that would help reduce the assault?
