Weird behaviour from the VM and SSH in. It didnt work, I took a bunch of complexity out of the cloud-init and redeployed the VM. My SSH access returned! I destroyed the VM and added something elsewhere in the code, unrelated to SSH and now I cannot SSH in again. Fuck. You. Computer. #recreationalcomputertouching #wut

@ausfestivus yup, same thing happens on a RasPi because they have no RTC. Early boot adjusts the time based on ~vibes~ (RTC if one is present and configured, fake-hwclock if the file is present, NTP if there’s network connectivity, etc)
