Is there anything out there other than an actual Mac motherboard that's capable of driving an old-school Mac floppy drive (including sending eject signals and managing the variable rotation rate for 800K disks?)
And to be clear I genuinely do mean a Mac floppy *drive*. I know what my options are for reading an 800K Mac floppy without a Mac drive. I do not want advice on how to use a Kryoflux with a PC drive to achieve this.
@mjg59 I vaguely recall some article in an Amiga magazine, decades ago, mentioned the weird hacks someone did to use a Mac floppy drive and the variable rotational speed. Searching now, I see https://github.com/Franks3dShop/Amiga2MacFloppy which might not directly help without an amiga but seems to include enough technical details that you might be able to retarget their work?
