There are a lot of calls to donate to NPR and PBS, and rightfully so. But your local community run radio stations were already in peril, and they’ve just lost funding too. Definitely a smaller dollar amount, but likely a bigger part of their annual budget. NPR/PBS will get a lot of attention, and folks with deeper pockets will likely be moved to donate…

So if you live in one of the few places in the US that still has independent community radio, please consider helping them out with some mutual aid if you’re able. If not with cash money, consider committing to volunteer hours with whatever your professional skillset is. They do so much with so little already.
