From time to time I enjoy translating MTG cards into Klingon. Here's Tezzeret, Cruel Captain from the upcoming Edge of Eternities set - and I've even given him some head ridges. I think he looks pretty good as a Klingon.
#klingon #tlhIngan_Hol #mtg #mtgeoe

Translation breakdown:

{te'Seret} - Tezzeret (transliteration)
{HoD} - captain
{naS} - vicious

{DI'ruj} - reality
{yIt} - walk
{-wI'} - thing-that-does suffix
so {DI'ruj yItwI'} - reality walker
{quv} - honoured (what I use for 'Legendary')

{'el} - enter
{-DI'} - as-soon-as suffix
{vIqraq} - artifact
{Da-} - you-to-it verb prefix
{SeH} - control
{-bogh} - which suffix
so {DaSeHbogh} - which you control
{-Daq} - location suffix
so {te'SeretDaq} - on Tezzeret

...

{matlh} - loyal - technically not a noun so shouldn't be used like this, but it's also the name of a Klingon character (Maltz) from ST:III, so I'm just saying that according to Klingons 'loyalty counters' are 'Maltz counters'
{togh} - count
so {toghwI'} - counter
{yI-} - you-to-it imperative verb prefix
{lan} - place

{DoS} - target
{vIqraq} - artifact
{yIn} - live
so {yInwI'} - thing that lives ('creature')
{ghap} - or
{tlhe'} - turn
{-Ha'} - undo
so {tlhe'Ha'} - unturn/untap

...

{vIqraq yInwI' je} - artifact AND creature
{'oH} - it
{-chugh} - if suffix
Klingon has no verb 'to be', but pronouns like {'oH} can take verb suffixes and act like the verb 'to be'. So, {'oHchugh} becomes 'if it is'.

{Doj} - pile - I use this for 'library'
{-lIj} - your suffix
{-Daq} - location suffix
{'IDnar mI'} - mana value (literally 'magic number')
There's no good way of constructing 'or less', so instead I went with {'IDnar mI' 1 'IDnar mI' 0 ghap} - mana value 1 or mana value 0.

...

{ghaj} - have
so {ghajbogh} - which has
{'echletHom} - card (literally 'little tablet', which is kinda adorable)
{nej} - search for
{'e'} - the current topic of conversation, in this case, the searched-for card
{So'} - cloak
{-Ha'} - undo
so {'e' yISoHa'} - uncloak it
{ghop} - hand
{Haw} - be random
{-moH} - cause suffix
so {yIHawmoH} - cause it to be random, aka 'shuffle'

...

{Degh} - emblem
{Suq} - acquire
{jop} - take a turn - literally 'thrust'
{-taH} - continuous
{-vIS} - while
so {bIjoptaHvIS} - while you are taking a turn
{tagh} - begin
{-DI'} - as soon as
{vIq} - combat
so {taghDI' vIq} - as soon as combat begins
{DoS vIqraq DaSeHbogh} - 'target artifact which you control'
{wej} - three
{toghwI'mey} - counters (using the {-mey} plural suffix)
{yInwI' 'oHbe'chugh} - if it is not a creature - using the same pronoun trick, but with a {be'} (negator)

...

{qoq} - robot
{moj} - become

So there we have it. Hopefully that had at least a slim chance of making something approaching sense.
