Not saying I'd ever do it, as my skill level is pretty darn poor, but if I ever started my own instance (for lulz), it'd be something like derps.social, be limited to 144 characters, no markdown, no media, and no URLs.

I think that would be a fun experiment. Pure artistic restraint. A little like Madame Vastra's one word test.
