$1,707 to replace the rubber trim around a car window, nice try but I think not
@liamvhogan I didn't realise Body Corporates were doing car glass repairs these days too
@liamvhogan $7 for the trim, $700 for all the extra trim they need for the $1000 of labour they spent finding all the other leaks
@jpm this isn’t the Land Rover, this is a modern car which explains the piss taking
@liamvhogan ah in that case, it’s $7 for the part, $700 for knowing which OEM manufactures it in the exact shape and length required, and $1000 for the dealership labour (2 hour job for the apprentice)
@jpm being VW, the part, which I have just found online without difficulty, is $79. Come on
@liamvhogan oh that’s going to be for the left-hand drive version. There’s a different part for RHD markets and it’s $795
@liamvhogan @jpm send link, I need to replace a door seal and, weirdly, the light covers from both front doors on my passat and no way am I paying “factory” prices
@franksting https://vdladelaide.au/ they're a wrecker, but for window rubber, who cares
