desperate for ideas here: my phone is sending all government calls straight to voicemail. Unemployment judge from Minneapolis, his clerk, an insurance guide from my local county… phone never rings, just the voicemail comes through. Call log shows no incoming call, but I get the voicemail. This is costing me time and money. Absolutely zero blocked contacts, and I’ve tried adding the numbers to my contacts. Still never rings. Any ideas? Visible has been entirely unhelpful in troubleshooting.
@ttscoff I would say the Block Unknown Contacts option is enable in the Phone settings, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Weird!
@ttscoff Spam blocking perhaps on Visible's side? It's configurable in the app.
@rphillips Yep, that was it. Amazing to me that 30m w/Visible support and they never thought to ask about that.
@ttscoff I experienced a bug several years ago with similar behavior, phone did not ring for any calls, just a notification about voicemails. Would only notice when I got a voicemail or tried making a call, and it would fail. Fixed for short periods by rebooting, and much longer periods (maybe permanently?) by resetting network settings
@ttscoff same thing happened to me. A simple reboot of the phone fixed it
@ttscoff Is it possible you have Silence Unknown Callers turned on in the Phone app settings? (Grant, those should still show in Recents, but maybe it’s worth checking.)
@macgreg Turns out it was Visible’s spam protection …
