Question; I keep seeing people claiming "Signal was hacked". No substantive evidence provided. Do you know what they might be referring to?
Advanced Persistent Teapot@Unprovable @gsuberland closest thing I have seen to that was the leak concerning the Signal clone used by the schmucks who called the Yemen bombing. People were floating claims of a hack around, separate to the leak. Nothing substantiated.
Just rumour mill as far as I know.
@Unprovable @gsuberland also they were related to the company running the clone rather than Signal itself. And it would be entirely unsurprising to me if someone had hacked it, because, an archive service for a confidential messenger used by US defence leadership? What a juicy target! If I were GRU I would be drooling at the thought. But all the talk I saw was at the level of speculation.
