Every time after SCOTUS does something outrageous I try to think of something politically we can do to counter what they did. Today, I'm mindful that the Catholic Church is increasingly an important moral voice criticizing Trump's deportation regime.
FWIW, the Catholic Church is not my answer. But when I wanted to shame Mike Lee, I @ed the LDS President and now--surely not bc of me--the LDS Church is trying to figure out what to do about his fascism. On Schools, there's another answer. Which MIGHT involve the Catholic Church.
Another thing that I think we are LONG overdue at doing is politicizing PTAs. This just gave us the opportunity to do teach-ins at PTAs about what SCOTUS just stole from parents.
@emptywheel.bsky.social Listen, wheel. Awhile back I wrote a letter to Bill Gates. “Bill,” I said, “you are not getting enough recognition for your philanthropy. Andrew Carnegie gave away a bunch of libraries, and as a young martini can, I checked out books from the Carnegie Free Library in Ogden Utah, and … etc etc etc.” Not too long after that Bill gave a billion and a half in Windows computers to libraries. Which had NOTHING TO DO WITH ME, but just like you, I wrote the letter. 🍸🐈

@emptywheel.bsky.social

SCOTUS' Catholics believe they outrank the Church.

@emptywheel.bsky.social I want to see some excommunications.
