The United States is now functionally equivalent to Nazi Germany in the 1930s.

As of today there is no more "it's going to happen" - it has now happened, fully and completely. The US government has been taken over by ultranationalist authoritarians intent on ethnic cleansing. That should be the headline of every newspaper and news program. Sound the alarm. Sound all the alarms.

@mousey @continuation Unfortunately, many people don't remember. This is the result of education being taken from the general public. I have learned so much more real history since I graduated from high school than I was ever taught in the public school system.

@MmmCreamy @mousey @continuation And now, because public K-12 education is being defunded in various sectors, and higher education institutions are being threatened and/or capitulating to Combover Caligula, we'll be lucky if the next generation even makes it to 11th grade w/o dropping out, assuming Trump doesn't start privatizing public schools and forcing people to pay to attend them. Oh and also assuming segregation in schools doesn't make a comeback, which wouldn't surprise me at all.
