The one thing that I miss about Twitter is interacting with Grady Booch. He's a few months younger than me. One of his early books changed my professional life for the better. Once you solve today's Wordle, if you are an IT person, and you know what "X" meant before Elon Musk was born, you'll understand.

@sysfrank I worked in IT starting in the 90s. I solved the puzzle and I don’t understand. I’m not sure what X meant. All I can think of is an X Windowing system but that doesn’t help me connect the dots.
I’m curious.

@jswright61 Yes, X-windows. Gnome is an acronym for GNU Network Object Management Environment, a flavor of X. Grady wrote the OOP book before the UML stuff that he is most famous for. I taught object-oriented design and programming for a while. Then, I got tired of missionary work and decided that I needed to find an easier way to put food on the table. 🤣🤣🤣
