Eigentlich müsste man son iPod (also wirklich in dem hochwertigen Gehäuse und Clickwheel, selbe Product Maturity) mal from scratch mit moderner Technologie, aber ohne Funk oder son IoT Blödsinn, neu bauen.

Kein Gefrickel wie das durchschnittliche OSS Projekt, sondern wirklich ein verkaufsfertiges Gerät.

@tiefpunkt mit Metallgehäuse, Taptic Engine und besserer UI wäre das was, ja. Flüssiges Cover Flow auf nem ESP32 geht sicherlich, braucht aber sicherlich gute Coding Skills. Ich mag den ESP32 als Platform nicht so wirklich, weil ich zu oft das esp-idf in der Hand hielt, aber Deep Sleep sollte der wie ein iPod beherrschen.

Son iPod mit vergleichbarer Haptik und UX nachzubauen ist halt mega aufwändig.

Scrolling through wheel is glitchy

Scrolling through lists is extremely sticky and glitchy. It is nearly unusable. It gets stuck and I get haptic feedback but the bar never moves then suddenly will skip the list and reappear back at the top. I have tried to slow down, maneuver with finesse but it's still glitchy.
