Mostly for COVID reasons, I haven’t been to a cinema since late 2019, when I saw The Rise of Skywalker.

I’m going tonight, though.

(Been waiting fifteen years for a good reason to wear this T-shirt out.)

@McKenzie_Ben Be interested to hear your thoughts on the film

@lokester I loved it.

I think it made some clever choices in order to tell a story about what makes Superman different not from mortal humans, but from other god-like superheroes. Most of the supporting characters get a nice B-plot, and the cast and script are great for most of them. Pacing is great, action is great, and it’s funny and fun without detracting from the emotional through-line of the movie.

Also I love Mr Terrific, so great to see him get such a big supporting role! (Still gutted that Lanterns won’t have my boy Kyle Rayner in it, but I also enjoyed Guy Gardner and Hawkgirl, though one of her moments was one of my few criticisms.)

@McKenzie_Ben I really liked this take on Superman as "regular person doing their best" rather than "impossibly moral paragon".

The opening scene is an odd choice even for in medias res, but they make it work.

And hey, maybe Kyle will be in season two :)
