You are now Higgs Boson

@jasmine My ex girlfriends family had a tradition of using their middle name as a patronym. So they where all [first name] [fathers name]-son/dotter [last name] and her father just happened to have the same name as the namesake for my last name.

Things didn't work out between us, but im kind of disappointed we didn't get married just so she had the chance to be known as [name]-dotter [name]-son.

@jasmine  .. too bad I'm not a spin 1 girl but a spin 1/2 girl ....
@jasmine Why did you have to add Bo as a middle name and then have it removed?
@sashin @jasmine IIUC, it's the parent who needs the middle name. Boson = son of Bo, ergo it's the name of the parent who matters.

@sashin there are many rules concerning which last names are allowed or not. it also costs SEK 1800 to apply for a new surname.

but there's one exception: you can pick any one of your parents' first or middle names, add -son or -dotter after it (with an optional extra s), and then it's automatically allowed and also free! no cost

so if one of your parents is named Bo, you can change your last name to Boson, Bosson, Bodotter or Bosdotter.

first names aren't as strictly regulated at all, so Higgs is very likely to be approved

@jasmine Woah nicely explained, that makes a lot of sense, thanks!
